Foot & Ankle Focus is a series of live, online events that offer a deep dive into a single clinical or practice management topic. Events are free to AOFAS members, medical students, and orthopaedic residents and fellows! All other nonmembers may participate for $59.

 

Foot & Ankle Focus: Mastering Complex Foot & Ankle Trauma

This webinar will examine the challenges of managing complex calcaneus, talus, and midfoot fractures. Faculty will discuss critical decision points in treatment planning, predictors of poor outcomes, strategies to minimize complications, and salvage and reconstruction options.

At the conclusion of this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Identify the critical decision points in the surgical management of complex calcaneus, talus, and midfoot fractures—including approach selection, fixation strategy, and the role of primary arthrodesis

  • Recognize high-risk injury patterns and patient factors that predict poor outcomes, and apply evidence-based strategies to mitigate complications including wound breakdown, avascular necrosis, and post-traumatic arthritis

  • Evaluate salvage and reconstruction options for malunion, failed fixation, and post-traumatic deformity across all three regions of the foot and ankle

 

The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. AOFAS designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirements of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery's Maintenance of Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABOS credit.

Registration for all AOFAS webinars is FREE for AOFAS members, medical students, and orthopaedic residents and fellows. All other nonmembers may participate for $59. Nonmember students, residents, and fellows must email program verification (institution name and year in training) to [email protected] prior to registering.
