AOFAS, in partnership with the European Foot & Ankle Society (EFAS), offers the EFAS/AOFAS Exchange Program for AOFAS and EFAS members. Through the program, three EFAS members each year will attend AOFAS Annual Meeting and travel to prominent orthopaedic foot and ankle institutions in the US and Canada. In turn, three AOFAS members will attend the EFAS Congress or Advanced Symposium and visit foot and ankle sites in
Europe. At each site, Exchange Fellows will meet leaders in foot and ankle surgery, observe procedures in operating rooms, and share research and ideas.
In 2026, the AOFAS selected Exchange Fellows will travel October 1-23, 2026, attending the 2026 EFAS Congress in Augsburg, Germany; and visiting leading foot and ankle institutions in Odense, Denmark; Bordeaux, France; and Madrid, Spain.
The EFAS selected Exchange Fellows will travel September 16-October 9, attending the AOFAS Annual Meeting/IFFAS Biennial Meeting in Seattle, Washington; and visiting the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington; Southern California Orthopaedic Institute in Los Angeles, California; and Rothman Orthopaedics in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
